Activitates Laboratorii
Quaestionum).
MT: Magic Theory Score
Inv.Gen.: Bonus from Inventive Genius
EP: Experience Points
- Enchant Item/Familiar/Talisman
(+1EP in Magic Theory per new enchantment)
as per ArM3/4 and WGRE rules: calculate lab total from (Forms & Effects Bonus
Table +) Form + Technique + Int + Magic Theory + Aura (+ Help in the lab) (+ Experimentation
Bonus), calculate vis expenditure etc...
- Invent Spell
(+1EP in Magic Theory per invented spell)
Spell Lvl - [Tech+Form+Int+MT+Inv.Gen.+Exp.Bonus+Aura+Bonus for Similarity]
= Accumulated Points per Season.
Points equal to Spell Lvl must be accumulated for invention.
- Learn Spell from Text (1 Season)
Spell Lvl - [Tech+Form+Int+MT+Bonus for Similarity] must be 1+
multiple spells possible?
- Learn Spell from Teacher
#Lvls learned=Student(Tech+Form+Int+MT) + Instructor(Com+MT)
multiple spells possible, but Lvls learned maximum those for lowest Tech+Form
- Scribe Spells
#Lvls = Scribe Latin x 20
- Translate Spells from Lab Notes
-Break Code on Int+Scribe Latin + roll of 6+
more if intentionally obscured: (6+ Int(Author))
- stress die + Lab Total > Spell Lvl: Spell scribed!
|
- Copy Spells
#Lvls = Scribe Latin x 20
- Obscure Spells
#Lvls = Scribe Latin x 20
|
- Study from vis
- Magic Theory: need up to 3 pawns of different arts.
Roll: Quality die x #pawns + aura = 3x current lvl: gain 3EP / 2x current lvl: gain 2EP / > current lvl: gain 1 EP.
- Art: need up to 3 pawns of art.
Roll: Stress die x #pawns + aura = EP gained. Maximum advancement is 3 lvls, excess EP are lost.
Note: Stress die expectation value is approx. 5.72, if you expend 3 pawns,
expected study total is approx. 17 + aura.
- Study Authority (any number of seasons!)
Authorities do not have levels (they can be studied eternally) and have
a Quality of -5.
Study Total = Int + Concentration - 5
EP gained: Study Total (Art) or Study Total/5 (round fractions up, Knowledge)
- Study Summa (until Score is equal to Summa Lvl)
Study Total = Int + Concentration + Quality
EP gained: Study Total (Art) or Study Total/5 (round fractions up, Knowledge)
max. advancement is 3 levels, excess EP are lost.
- Study Liber Quaestionum (1 season)
Study Total = Int + Concentration + Quality - (5x|current lvl - target lvl|).
EP gained: Study Total (Art) or Study Total/5 (Knowledge)
- Study Tractatus (1 season)
In case of Tractatus on Art: Spell must be known to student.
Study Total = Int + Concentration + Quality.
EP gained: Study Total (Art) or Study Total/5 (round fractions up, Knowledge)
- Study Commentary (1 season/variable) (WGRE p. 124)
Refer to original rules since Study Total depends on whether commentary
is on summa, liber quaestionum or tractatus.
The benefit of commentaries is that you can study more than one on the
same work! Of course, you have to HAVE them around....
- Write Summa (+1 EP Scribe Latin per Summa)
1. Summa Lvl = up to 1/2 Score of author in Art/Knowledge.
2. Write (Com + Scribe Latin) in points per season until Lvl is reached.
3. Quality = Com + Scribe Latin + 3
- Copy Summa
#Lvls/season = (Scribe + Dex) x 3
- Write Liber Quaestionum (1 season, +1EP Scribe Latin)
1. Target Lvl = up to 1/3 Score of author in Art/Knowledge.
2. Quality = Com + Scribe Latin + 6
- Write Tractatus (1 season, +1 EP Scribe Latin)
- for Art: a spell must have been mastered, Magnitude < Com + Scribe
Latin. The Quality will be the magnitude of the spell, the Art the one
that is higher.
- for Knowledge: Quality is Com + Scribe Latin, the max. number of
Tractatus on one knowledge is 1/2 the author's score in the knowledge.
- Write Commentary (1 season, +1 EP Scribe Latin) (WGRE p. 123f)
If you want to write a commentary, you can only do so if you have
already studied the work you want to comment for one season, and the
work is not your own. A commentary must be studied with the commented text
(house rule).
On Summa/Tractatus: Quality = Min((Com + Scribe Latin), Quality of Summa)
On Liber Quaestionum: Quality = Min((Com + Scribe Latin + 6), Quality of
Liber Quaestionum)
- Gloss Book (1 season, no EP) (WGRE p. 123f)
1. You can only gloss books that are not your own and that you have
studied at least one season beforehand.
2. Glossing alters the quality of the book such that its new quality is
as high as it would be if you would have written it, meaning its quality
is determined using your Com+Scribe scores. A book's quality does not
decrease this way, though.
3. A book can only be glossed once.
- Copy Liber Quaestionum or Copy Tractatus
#Copies(!) = Scribe Latin
- Disputatio (+1EP Disputatio for Instructor)
1. Instructor must have at least 5 in the Art or 3 in the Knowledge to
teach this way
2. Only one Student can be taught with Disputatio
3. Study Total = Instructor(Int+Disputatio) + Student(Int+6)
4. EP gained = Study Total (Art) or Study Total/5 (round fractions up,
Knowledge)
5. Maximum Advancement is 3 Lvls, excess EP are lost.
-
Lectio (Knowledge only!, +1EP Lectio for Instructor)
1. a book (summa, liber quaestionum, tractatus) must be read.
2. max. student = Instructor(Com+Lectio), minimum 2 (house rule) .
3. Study Total (each student) = Student(Int) + Instructor(Com + Lectio)
+ 1/2 Quality of the book (round down)
4. EP gained = Study Total / 5 (round up)
5. ONE season by ONE instructor on ONE text
